The Iberostar Playa Paraíso Golf Club is a highly acclaimed 18-hole, par-72 championship course located within the Iberostar resort complex in the Riviera Maya, just north of Playa del Carmen. Designed by P.B. Dye, the course is known for its challenging layout and unique features, including deep bunkers, narrow fairways, and undulating greens.

El Rey Ruins

Situated near modern-day Cancún, the site is relatively small compared to other Maya ruins like Chichen Itza or Tulum, but it offers a fascinating glimpse into ancient Maya life. It’s nestled among dense tropical vegetation without leaving the city.

The site includes a series of temples, palaces, and platforms, along with a Maya ball court. The architecture is typical of the Maya style, with large stone structures and carvings.

Some of the buildings at El Rey are well-preserved, and visitors can climb them to get a closer look at the ancient stonework and carvings.

Tulum Ruins

One of the most iconic and well-preserved Maya ruins in Mexico, located along the Caribbean coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. Known for its dramatic cliffside setting and beautiful beaches, Tulum stands out as one of the last cities built and inhabited by the Maya before the arrival of the Spanish in the 16th century.

Tulum is one of the few Maya ruins that offers direct access to a beautiful beach. The white-sand beaches below the cliffs have become one of the site’s major draws.

Chichen Itza

Chichen Itza is one of the most famous and significant archaeological sites of the Maya civilization. Located in the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico, it was once a major political, economic, and cultural center and is now one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The site is known for its impressive structures, advanced astronomical knowledge, and its status as a UNESCO World Heritage site. It’s about 2.5 hours from Cancún by car or bus.


The Temple of Kukulcán is the most iconic structure at Chichen Itza and is often referred to as El Castillo (The Castle). It is a large step pyramid dedicated to the feathered serpent god Kukulcán (also known as Quetzalcoatl in Aztec culture).
The pyramid has four sides with 91 steps each, adding up to 365 steps, which correspond to the number of days in a solar year.


During the spring and autumn equinoxes, the sun casts a shadow on the pyramid’s steps, creating the illusion of a serpent slithering down the stairs. This is a remarkable example of the Maya’s advanced understanding of astronomy.

Ek Balam

The name “Ek Balam” translates to “Black Jaguar” in the Mayan language, referencing the powerful jaguar spirit in Mayan culture. The ruins of Ek Balam are known for their well-preserved architecture, intricate carvings, and impressive structures.

Ek Balam was an important city during the Late Classic Period (around 600–900 AD) and, like other Mayan cities, was eventually abandoned, likely due to environmental changes and internal political dynamics.

Today, Ek Balam is a popular tourist destination, offering visitors a glimpse into the ancient Mayan civilization. It is less crowded compared to other major Mayan sites like Chichen Itza, making it a more serene location for exploration. The site is also surrounded by lush jungle, adding to its mystical atmosphere.

Coba

Coba is another significant archaeological site of the Maya civilization, located in the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) from Tulum. Unlike some of the more famous Maya cities, Coba is known for its dense jungle setting and its impressive pyramids, especially the Nohoch Mul pyramid, which is the tallest pyramid in the Yucatán Peninsula.

Garrafon Park in Isla Mujeres is famous worldwide for its incomparable landscape of reefs and cliffs that extend in front of the turquoise waters in the Mexican Caribbean. Located just 25 minutes from Cancun, on the beautiful Isla Mujeres, this natural park offers a variety of recreational activities, such as a snorkeling tour in Isla Mujeres,.kayaking, zip lining, and walks through the south of the island, as well as relaxing options, such as the Mayan temazcal, a panoramic pool, and comfortable areas with lounge chairs and hammocks.

Rio Secreto

Xel-Há is an all-inclusive water park in Tulum, so the buffet and open bar are part of the experience.
